INTRODUCTION

The Covid-19 is a member of the coronavirus family. Symptoms of the virus include pneumonia, coughs, fever and breathing difficulties. This policy exists to provide preventive measures to safeguard the health of all participants, villagers and employees to the best of our collective ability.

Epic endeavours to mitigate the risk of Covid-19. However, by participating in Epic’s programs you acknowledge that there are certain risks associated with Covid-19 and you voluntarily assume full risks of Covid-19 which you may sustain as you participate in Epic’s programs.

ELIGIBILITY
This policy is applicable to all visitors, builders, Epic Core Team and villagers involved in the programme (hereby collectively referred to as “Participants”). 

POLICY ELEMENTS

1. In the event of any programme hosted by Epic,

1.1 Hand sanitisers will be made available for all Participants throughout the event.

1.2 Face masks will only be provided to those who experiencing illness during the build.

1.3 Experience Coordinators will monitor all participant’s temperature during the event.

1.4 Specialists will conduct inspections throughout the day to monitor each participant’s well-being.

1.5 If participants are found to have a body temperature of more than 38°C and exhibit any symptoms (fever, prolonged shortness of breath, sneezing or coughing or have symptoms of respiratory infection) at any stage of the Programme they will be directed to leave the event and return home.

1.6 The group size shall not exceed 100 participants in their activities at any given time.

1.7 Epic will organise builds to be conducted with a two week (14 day) gap in between each build.

1.8 Epic will pause the Pay-It-Forward programme responsibilities.

1.9 Epic will not proceed with any event if the community partner (village representatives) does not give their approval to proceed.

1.10 Epic will provide individually packed meals when possible.

2. Participants are prohibited to participate in the Programme if, 

2.1 Participants have travelled to any of the following countries for any related purposes within 30 days from the build: China, Denmark, Italy, Iran, Japan, South Korea.

2.1.1 This includes travellers who have transited in the mentioned countries regardless of the duration and regardless whether they had cleared immigration in these countries.

2.2 Participants have been in close contact with anyone who has travelled to any of the above mentioned countries within 30 days from the build.

2.3 Participants have been in close proximity with anyone who has contracted Covid-19.

2.4 Participants are unwell or have symptoms such as prolonged sneezing, coughing, fever and shortness of breath.

3. Health Declaration Form

3.1 It is required for all Participants to sign the Health Declaration prepared by Epic.

3.2 It is required for all Participants to declare their travel history in the Health Declaration Form for our team’s knowledge and mitigation. 

3.3 Failure to sign the Health Declaration Form will result in instant disqualification of your participants. 

3.4 In the event of a build, we will have the villagers to have their health declared. 

3.5 For any events hosted by Epic, all visitors will be required to sign the Health Declaration Form.

4. In the event of receiving quarantine orders from registered medical practitioners or medical officers:

4.1 In the event of a Participant receiving a quarantine order from registered medical practitioners or medical officers before the build, Participants must notify Epic at once. This will result in disqualification of the Participants to the Programme. 

4.2 PIC will find a replacement to substitute the Participant if the Participant has received a quarantine order from registered medical practitioners or medical officers before the build.

4.3 In the event of a Participant receiving a quarantine order from registered medical practitioners or medical officers during the build, Participants must notify the Experience Coordinators immediately, who will then notify Epic. Epic will halt the Programme. All Participants will be directed to private clinics or government centres for screening. 

5. In the event of a confirmed infection

5.1 For Corporate Builds

5.1.1 If the Participant is confirmed to have Covid-19, the Person-In-Charge of this event (the client or sponsor) is entitled to postpone the Programme to a further date. This must be conveyed in writing via email.

5.1.2 Epic will not incur any charges if we have received any notification on the postponement, when possible. However, clients may need to bear any/all penalties and charges issued by our supplier (meals, accommodation and transportation) if the changes are within 14 days within the build.

5.1.3 Epic will only postpone the Programme once an official letter of confirmed infection(s) by the authorised hospital/medical centers is provided. 

6. Epic advise all Participants to uphold good hygiene practices by

6.1 Washing hands frequently with soap or hand sanitizer provided. (especially before meals) 

6.2 Wearing a mask if you are experiencing slight illness to prevent spreading of diseases. 

6.3 Covering your mouth with tissue when coughing or sneezing and dispose of it immediately. If no tissue, cough or sneeze into the crook of your elbow.

6.4 Avoiding close contact with anyone who has cold or flu-like symptoms.

6.5 Avoiding unprotected contact with live wild or farm animals.
